Leys CDI supports and promotes SLIGO (Senior Leys Independent Gardening Organisation). SLIGO gardening club is run by local over-50s, and has its own constitution, committee and lively programme. You don’t have to be an active gardener to enjoy SLIGO’s talks, trips and socials. SLIGO volunteers have regular work parties to maintain the beautiful Clockhouse community garden Adults of all ages welcome. Leys CDI works in partnership with many organisations and consults with Leys area residents over 50 to find out what new activities and services are most wanted. Our lively programme changes through the year, with new interest groups, courses, information talks and social events. Past activities have included everything from oil painting and first aid training to community archaeology and recycled jewellery-making.
