WHAT IS THE CLOCKHOUSE PROJECT?
Leys CDI Clockhouse Project is run with, and for, local over-50s living in and near the Leys. It was set up in 2007. The Clockhouse Project consults with older residents and develops the activities and services they see as priorities. All our activities are low-cost or free, and most are “drop-in” – you don’t have to book in advance, just come when you are able. All sessions include the chance to meet others and chat over tea/coffee and biscuits, and a friendly welcome is guaranteed!
The project is based in the Clockhouse, Long Ground, Greater Leys. Our main programme of activities takes place here but we also hold events in other parts of the estate.
Leys CDI Clockhouse Project worked with more than 200 local over-50s last year, through ten different activity groups, chosen and developed by older people themselves. 70 local people – mostly project users themselves – also volunteered with the project, helping with everything from skill-sharing, to planning and leading groups, outreach, work in the office, and community consultations.
