Fun and Friendships down at the Farm

Fun and friendships, new and old, were the order of the day when the CDI Clockhouse seniors teamed up with our friends at Oxford University and visited the local Millets Farm.

Selected as a place of most interest by the seniors, Millets farm and the day definitely lived up to expectations with animals, butterflies and beautiful countryside shared, along with cake, conversations, sandwiches, refreshments and more cake !

Time for Cake and to make new friends

The real beauty of trips away from the Leys, is the opportunity for members of different CDI activities to come together, often for the first time, making new friendships and the opportunity to engage in conversations with fellow members, CDI staff and session partners.

Oxford University, in partnering with the trip, not only assisted in affording members the opportunity to attend but also provided wonderful support on the day linking members together and spending time listening and engaging with individuals.

Special thanks to Shona Forster from the University who once again, proved a joy to work with on the event, making sure everyone had a wonderful day.

Mel delighted to meet her new friends
Simon’s gardening skills coming to fruition

As you will see from a selection of pictures from the day, many members enjoyed the day for a host of different reasons :- Mel took great delight informing everyone she’d met someone ‘Fat, round and hairy from New Zealand!’

Simon was thrilled to prove ‘his gardening/growing skills had come to fruition !’

Meanwhile, despite much coaxing and cajoling ‘the donkeys were having none of it’  and moving from the shade for NO one.

“We’re not moving for anyone”

With a full calendar of upcoming senior and youth CDI activities, the opportunity for members to engage in health and wellbeing activities has never been greater,

Here’s to staying fit, renewing acquaintances, old and new and who knows? Maybe, even meeting someone fat, round and hairy in the near future?!!!
