You are currently viewing GREAT EGGCITEMENT ON THE LEYS

Youngsters and Seniors from the Leys are currently full of ‘Eggcitement’ and enjoying Spring for many reasons.

Firstly, The Clockhouse and Dovecote centre have joined forces to launch a brand new ‘pilot’ intergenerational session entitled ‘The Generation Group Games’  which will bring Seniors and Pre-school children together on a weekly basis to enjoy each other’s company, interact, educate, improve health/wellbeing and above all have ‘Lots of fun’, through a variety of games and activities.

Juniors from the Dovecote, who will soon be joining Clockhouse Seniors for the New ‘Generation Games Group’ happy to display their variety of Easter eggs.

Secondly, proving the benefit of additional partnership working for the local community,  CDI and the Dovecote linked up with our friends from the local housing associations, Hills and Peabody.

During the Easter period the two organisations kindly arranged for a collection and donation of Easter Eggs to both CDI and the Dovecote centre, making sure that many youngsters and seniors had an Easter to remember.

Whilst CDI or the Dovecote would never condone the over indulgence of chocolate ! We are delighted to report that there were some very ‘happy, smiley and even chocolatey’ faces at the end of our daily activities………. And as the Dr (Always) says ‘a little of what you fancy does you good’.

Many thanks to everyone at Hills and Peabody for your kind generosity, in particular Richard Colwill, Chris Doyle, Danielle McCarthy, Doug Wood (from Hills) and Sam Stronach (Peabody) for assisting the ‘chocolating’ of happy faces throughout the Leys.
