This summer, Leys CDI is once again opening its doors and its heart to young people across Greater and Blackbird Leys for four fantastic weeks of FREE youth courses, running Monday to Thursday from 27 July to 20 August 2026.
These sessions are all about giving our youngsters a safe space, a warm welcome, and the chance to enjoy a summer filled with creativity, activity, laughter and connection.
What’s on offer?
Every week is packed with a huge variety of activities, including:
- Arts & crafts
- Cookery workshops
- Educational sessions and special visitors
- Dance classes
- Martial arts
- All sports — football, basketball, athletics, swimming and more
- Weekly trips to ten‑pin bowling, crazy golf, laser quest and plenty of surprises still to come
And for our regular attendees, we’re thrilled to offer a special intergenerational trip to Cotswold Wildlife Park on Tuesday 25 August , a chance for our young people and seniors to share a day out together, building friendships across generations.
Healthy meals, every day
Every participant receives:
- A hot cooked meal
- Refreshments
- Fruit and healthy snacks throughout the day
Because no child should ever have to learn, play or grow on an empty stomach.
FREE for ALL , thanks to HAF funding and our partners
Thanks to Oxfordshire County Council’s HAF funding and the generosity of our CDI partners (with more always welcome), every place is completely FREE , not just for children receiving free school meals, but for all young people aged 9–18.
Please pre‑book , it really helps us help you
To make sure we can cater for everyone, book venues, plan meals and organise trips, we’re encouraging families to pre‑book. It couldn’t be easier, simply scan the QR code on our Summer Course posters or simply just click on the poster at the bottom of the page and complete the quick booking form.
Why we do this
Last summer, 153 different young people joined the CDI summer fun, with an average of 84 attending each day. This year, our mission remains the same:
- To offer a safe, welcoming space
- To provide fun, meaningful activities
- To ensure healthy meals for every child
- To help young people build friendships, confidence and memories that last a lifetime
We don’t want to see any young person without purpose, opportunity or support this summer. If you know a family, parent or carer who might benefit, please share our poster and spread the word.
Together, we can make Summer 2026 another season of joy, growth and community pride for the young people of the Leys.
