MORE HAPPY GILMOUR THAN RORY McILROY!

Forget Augusta. Forget St Andrews. This week, Leys CDI’s youth crew took their summer swagger to Gravity Golf—a crazy golf course set in a futuristic alien world where the only thing more unpredictable than the terrain was the putting technique.

From the moment they stepped onto the neon-lit greens, it was clear this wasn’t your average golf outing. With asteroid bunkers, alien animatronics, and UFO hazards, the young golfers channelled their inner PGA legends—though some claimed they were more Happy Gilmore than Rory McIlroy.

In fact, several were convinced they’d been cast as extras in the long-awaited sequel to Happy Gilmore, though early reports suggest the film might be more Cats than comedy… or perhaps just herding cats !

Putting styles? Let’s just say they were “a little unorthodox.”

Techniques included:

•     Whispering sweet nothings to the ball

•     Blowing it toward the hole (with questionable success, video at the bottom😂)

•     Putting with every conceivable end of the club

•     And in the heat of battle—doing absolutely anything to throw off their opponents (Men in Black-style mind tricks may have been involved).

It was chaotic, competitive, and completely cosmic. And with one week of summer courses left, there’s still time for local juniors to join in the fun.

So, If you are aware of any youths aged 9-18 years who you believe would benefit from ‘joining CDI’s Summer activities’, please point them our way. Please note though – No more Aliens, Space cadets or Happy Gilmours need apply ! 🙂
