Summer youth courses ‘a blaze’ of activity

Week one of the summer youth courses is now complete and if you’re a resident of the Leys you can be excused for thinking that a fire has recently broke out !

Dance workshops with Menen, Art Classes with Sana and Super Mario and X-box competitions with Fabian and Sama kick started the week. Then, contrary to belief that it was due to ‘Natty’s footballing skills on Fire !’ the Oxford Fire and rescue service team arrived at the Barn (the venue of CDI’s youth activities) and properly ‘lit up’ the youngsters!

The local team of dedicated fire fighters, kindly took time out of their busy scheduled to educate, enthuse and generally excite the CDI youths, who were thrilled to ‘flash lights’, ‘sound sirens’ and ‘spray hoses!’

The opportunity to meet the fire team and learn about their exciting daily duties, has definitely proved a ‘huge’ talking point amongst the staff  and young people, providing one of the many happy memories from week one. With many more ‘happy activities’ and memories to be made throughout the rest of the Summer, it’s not too late to  join in the fun.

If interested, please contact CDI via youthmanager@leyscdi.co.uk or head down to the Barn where we’d love to welcome you.

Meanwhile, many thanks to the Oxford fire and rescue services team for the wonderful opportunity you afforded CDI and here’s to ‘a blaze’ of future fun, youth activities.
