Standing as a radiant symbol of Community, creativity and collaboration, the Leys festival once again proved a buzz of joy and connection for all involved.

Leys CDI were delighted to play their small part in a day that brings families, neighbours and visitors together in celebration of the wonderful vibrant, diverse spirit of Greater and Blackbird Leys.

From posing for selfies, giving out ‘fist bumps’, high fives and hugs, (not to mention application forms for ‘Free’ places for the forthcoming Summer youth courses) CDI’s mascot Community kid had a wonderful time joining in the the energy, creativity and laughter.

Congratulations and thanks to the ‘tireless dedication’ of the festival organisers, who not only organised a fantastic celebration, but who reminded everyone what’s possible when people believe in each other, and in the place they call home.

CDI’s mascot, Community Kid, took great delight in meeting up with his local community at the wonderful Leys festival.

Despite a ‘misunderstanding’ which almost led to an arrest ! CK’s graffiti and artistic skills, under the supervision of the amazing ‘Rawz’ and his ‘Loud Lab’ project team proved one of the many highlights of the day that included the opportunity to dance, eat and socialise with members from many fantastic community groups.

The opportunity to meet so many wonderful people, including the local police team!, provided many pictorial highlights as you will have seen.
