Ines Kretzschmar (Chair)

Ines has lived and worked locally for nearly 25 years. She has been closely involved with the Leys CDI since 2008, spending ten years as a line manager overseeing different CDI projects, and became a trustee in 2015. She has many years of experience in the housing sector and is a qualified coach, teacher, trainer, and facilitator. She is passionate about people’s development, capacity building within a community, as well as access to inspiring and joyful learning for all throughout life. Ines loves the arts and any water sports, including adrenaline-inducing wild swimming in the winter.

Penelope Wood

Now retired, Penny worked in the Civil Service for 20 years. In 1994 she was seconded to a Business in the Community Partnership in Blackbird Leys, and ended up doing community development work there for 15 years. She has been involved with the CDI from the beginning and has particularly focused on fundraising and administration. She now works part-time at a Herb Farm in the North Oxfordshire village where she lives and is a licensed Lay Minister in the local Benefice of Shelswell.

Lekh Raj

Lekh Raj has lived in Blackbird Ley since 1990 and has seen Blackbird Leys go through some really good changes over the last 20 years. He worked in the Civil Service for 6 years. He worked for Carillion Services Ltd for nearly 11 years in their finance department until their liquidation in January 2018. He currently works for Equans E & S Solutions Ltd in their finance team. Lekh loves going for long runs, burning calories in the gym, playing badminton and reading. He has been a trustee for Leys CDI for over 5 years and  is currently acting as a treasurer.

Sam Stronach

Sam Stronach has a rich background spanning social housing, community investment, and project management. Currently working as Economic Development Manager at West Oxfordshire District Council but has previously worked leading on community investment for Peabody, one of the largest social housing providers on Greater Leys.

Passionate about cultivating relationships, Sam has established meaningful partnerships, through dynamic collaborations within this area of Oxford. She is a firm, believer in ‘team work makes the dream work’ and continues to make some meaningful partnerships with great organisations on the Blackbird and Greater Leys estates for benefit of the services users of Leys CDI.

Sam is in an RAF dependant family with a love of great outdoors, camping and fitness!

Deborah MciIveen

Deborah McIlveen has over 25 years experience  in equalities, policy and practice, training , youth and community development; working with governments,  public services, trade unions, private and voluntary sector organisations, adults, children and young people locally, nationally and internationally to increase safety and to promote anti- discriminatory practices and social justice for all. Deborah has lived in Blackbird Leys since 1988 and is currently Principal of an International College based in Oxford. 

Beatrice Lutanyamoi

Beatrice Lutanyamoi, has lived in the Leys since 1998. She previously worked as a civil servant but is now working at Blood Donor Centre in Oxford. Beatrice’s love for community work has involved her volunteering at many loca initiatives including the Community Larder, Senior Christmas meals and Local Youth Events. In becoming a Trustee, Beatrice believes she can assist CDI and her local community in becoming further integrated. She has chosen to become a trustee so that she can help and support the community in every way possible. Her aim is to encourage all ages of the Community to become active and avoid isolation.
